Our Social Space

Our Projects and Activities

At Our Social Space, we use dance and creative programmes to bring people together, build confidence, and support wellbeing.

Whether you want to try something new, meet others in your community, or simply enjoy moving to music, there's a place here for you.

Many of these activities are part of larger community projects that give extra support or focus on specific needs.

Visit the [Projects page] if you'd like to learn more about the purpose, impact and funding behind each programme.

Move to the music.  Connect to the moment.

Step into Social is a welcoming, upbeat programme that brings adults together through swing and blues social dance to support social, physical and mental wellbeing.

It's designed especially for people living with mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD or other conditions - while contuing to welcome everyone on a donation basis.

Set to the rich sounds of swing, jazz and blues, each class offers the chance to learn fun, beginner-friendly dance steps and a relaxed atmosphere.

Whether you're dancing solo, with a partner, or simply sway to the rhythm, you'll find joy and connection in every beat.

No experience?  No problem.

This is a zero-pressure, all-welcome space where laughter counts just as much as footwork. Dancing isn't just good for your body - it's good for your mind and your mood.

Together We Dance is a welcoming space for parents and caregivers of all genders to move, connect, and recharge through the power of social dance.

Here, dance is more than steps - it's a way to reconnect with yourself and with others who truly understand the joys and challenges of caring.

You'll find a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere where no dance experience is needed - just a willingness to show up and share space.

Each class combines gentle, beginner-friendly movement with meaningful opportunities to build community and emotional resilience.

Whether you want to ease stress, find connection, or simply enjoy the music and movement, this space is for you.

Because dance isn't just movement - it's belonging.

The Flicks Hut is volunteer-led an independent pop up community cinema.

We carefully curate screenings of independent films that explore pressing social issues - from poverty and mental health to gender and racial equality, the NI conflict, and sexuality - sparking meaningful post-film discussions and reflection.

Alongside themed movie nights as part of our regular programme, The Flicks Hut is also available to host film screenings by request.

FREE to attend | Community gardening & outdoor wellbeing sessions

Slow down. Get grounded. Grow something together.

The Juke Yard is our small but mighty urban garden - a shared outdoor space where people come together to reconnect with nature, each other, and themselves.

Created from a once-blank concrete yard, The Juke Yard is being transformed into a welcoming, accessible green space through community effort, creativity, and care. It’s a place to get your hands in the soil, learn new skills, and enjoy the simple wellbeing that comes from being outdoors.

Sessions are relaxed and informal, with opportunities to garden, plant, build, tidy, and shape the space together at a gentle, unhurried pace. You can take part as much or as little as feels right for you - whether that’s active gardening, light tasks, or simply spending time in the fresh air.

No experience? No problem.

Everything you need is provided, and there’s no pressure to know what you’re doing. Curiosity counts more than expertise, and conversation is just as welcome as quiet focus.

The Juke Yard is about growing more than plants - it’s about connection, confidence, and shared ownership of a space that belongs to the community.

Delivered in partnership with The Conservation Volunteers (TCV)

with support from Phoenix Energy Community Fund.
