What is Blues Dance?
Blues dance is a family of Black American vernacular dances, rooted in African American culture and danced to the rich sounds of blues music. Emerging in the 19th century and shaped in the Mississippi Delta, Blues dance reflects resilience, improvisation, and joy. Today it is danced and celebrated worldwide – and right here in Belfast.
